The Performance Hangover

Karen and I had a busy weekend with three performances of Willy Wonka.  It was great to finally see all of our hard work pay off in the reactions of the audience. As always, the entire cast fed off the energy of the audience, and each of the performances was better than any rehearsal leading up to the weekend.

Relaxing in the Bucket shack

Of course, we took some time to relax, too.  Before the show, I stopped by to visit Karen (who played Mrs. Bucket) in the Bucket shack.  And we can’t forget the great time (and drinks) we had after the Friday and Saturday evening shows.

By the time yesterday’s show was done, exhaustion had set in.  We now have a couple days off before a quick run-through on Wednesday and three more shows this weekend.

Over the next few days, we will talk a bit more about our theatre experiences.  We even have a few pictures and videos! 🙂

For today, I would like to just add a few notes on Karen’s post from Friday.

  1. Remember you have until Wednesday evening at midnight to submit your name for our website.  Feel free to submit more than one. 🙂
  2. We will compile all of the suggestions into a poll which will be available by 10am on Thursday.  Voting will be open for 48 hours.
  3. The winner will receive a $25 gift card to Amazon.  For those of you (like me) that prefer Barnes and Noble, we will gladly provide a B&N card in its place.

We have gotten some great suggestions so far, but would love some more ideas.  Can you “wow” us with your creativity?

For now, I am off to take a nap. 🙂  Have a happy Monday!

I’m looking forward to the details. The town is doing that production next fall. I’m thinking of auditioning.

It is a fun show, but different. It is almost like 2 shows in one – the people in the first act are, for the most part, not in the second act and vice versa.

Still, it has a lot of energy and we are getting great feedback! 🙂 We will be posting more about the show throughout the week, especially on Friday. 🙂
